The committee, members and guests had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the 100 Property Club’s annual Ascot Racecourse Evening Race event held on Friday 11th May 2018 in the private box of one of our members.

Cromwell-Holdings

The box was kindly and generously loaned to the 100 Property Club for the evening race meeting by Cromwell Holdings Ltd, and Darren Bradley, Managing Director hosted superbly with a champagne reception, a selection of fine wines and a cold buffet of smoked salmon, cold meats and plentiful salads and desserts followed by coffee, petit fours and – dare I say more wine!

JL and DB

Dreamfield stole the show at Ascot, storming to victory in the Montfort Handicap Stakes after nearly two years off the track.

The unbeaten Godolphin star has had his issues with injuries but looks to his best now and will head for some big races in the summer including Royal Ascot.

Society Power and James Doyle pushed out to win the AGV Handicap Stakes.  The seven-furlong handicap looked to have some high-class runners and a close finish suggests there may be more to come from the placed horses.

Frankie Dettori showed his ‘nous’ around Ascot in the Ascot School Arts Competition Maiden Stakes as he guided Stream of Stars to success, and many of the 100 Property Club members who had placed a bet on Frankie were delighted when he came in first place.

It was Shades of Blue for Clive Cox who bolted clear to land the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies Stakes in what could be a race to produce some future winners.

It was a good start to the day for the bookmakers as 25/1 shot Sam Missile for Jamie Osborne and apprentice Jack Dinsmore won the Wood & Wood Signs Apprentice Handicap.

Corrosive and Josephine Gordon landed the final race of the night in good style.

SC and Cromwell Holdings

The 100 Property Club would like to thank Cromwell Holdings Ltd for their kind hospitality on the evening and hope they might allow us to repeat the event again next year.  The writer ended the day slightly up on proceedings which was delightful, and it was proposed we might invite a leading tipster, who is a friend of another member, along to any future race meetings to add to the enjoyment.

Tally Ho !
