Christmas dinner success for 100 Property Club!
The 100 club celebrated Christmas in style at The Dorchester Hotel on London’s Park Lane last week. Along with the fine wine and food there was some serious fund raising taking place.
The evening started with the traditional champagne reception followed by a fantastic three course dinner in the Dorchester’s famously beautiful ballroom. Whilst the meal was proceeding our ‘Red Devils’ stalked the room encouraging entries to the raffle and the big cash draw.
Following coffee, we had none other than Jimmy Tarbuck regale us with his famous quick wit and personal anecdotes. This included the real definition of SAGA, Eric Morecombe refusing a one armed man entry to his show on account that he couldn’t clap, and finally Tommy Cooper famously asking the Queen if he could have her cup final tickets once she’d told him that she didn’t really like football!
The evening then got serious with the ever present Chris Mills of CBRE conducting one of the club’s best auctions yet. The holiday in Antigua, the cooking experience in France, the sailing days and the other lots were devoured by the room!
Special thanks go to Ian Oswin of Curchods for pledging the big cash draw winnings back into the pot, to our photographer Sarah Payne who kindly donated her services on the evening, and to all the sponsors who contributed to making the evening such a success.
Whether it be the big cash draw, the raffle or the auction, the members’ and guests’ response was fantastic. This culminated in a total of over £21,700 being raised for charity and ensures that bus number 51 is on the production line!
Festivities continued into the night when we were able to catch up with a committee member.
Adelle Peattie, Charity Officer, said “It was great to see so many familiar faces at this year’s dinner and I am blown away with what we have been able to achieve for charity. Considering the tough times we are all still experiencing, we have had a great evening. I would like to make special mention of fellow committee member, Sally Fish of PIH, who is responsible for organising the dinner. As always, Sally has done a great job in pulling everything together. Finally, I would encourage the members to get involved with more 100 club events for our Ruby Year.”
