We are pleased to release the details for the next club lunch that is being held at Little Dudley house, Dorking on Monday 27th February. You may recall that we went to this venue for a regional lunch 2 years ago and we were very well looked after. They also donated some prizes at the Christmas Dinner and in light of this we were keen to support them again.
For the first time we can confirm that members/members in waiting will be able to bring a guest. We look forward to receiving your bookings and getting the year off to a great start!
It is with very great sadness that I have to inform the membership of the death of Ron Steward, following a heart attack on Friday 30th December 2011. For those members who wish to attend Ron’s funeral and celebration of his life afterwards the details are – Wednesday 25th Jan 2012 - 2.45pm - Randalls Park Crematorium, Randalls Road, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT22 0AG. Afterwards at The Drift Golf Club, Drift Road, East Horsley, Surrey, KT24 5HD. Ron specifically requested no flowers or black ties.

The 100 club celebrated Christmas in style at The Dorchester Hotel on London’s Park Lane last week. Along with the fine wine and food there was some serious fund raising taking place.
The evening started with the traditional champagne reception followed by a fantastic three course dinner in the Dorchester’s famously beautiful ballroom. Whilst the meal was proceeding our ‘Red Devils’ stalked the room encouraging entries to the raffle and the big cash draw.
Following coffee, we had none other than Jimmy Tarbuck regale us with his famous quick wit and personal anecdotes. This included the real definition of SAGA, Eric Morecombe refusing a one armed man entry to his show on account that he couldn’t clap, and finally Tommy Cooper famously asking the Queen if he could have her cup final tickets once she’d told him that she didn’t really like football!
The evening then got serious with the ever present Chris Mills of CBRE conducting one of the club’s best auctions yet. The holiday in Antigua, the cooking experience in France, the sailing days and the other lots were devoured by the room!
Special thanks go to Ian Oswin of Curchods for pledging the big cash draw winnings back into the pot, to our photographer Sarah Payne who kindly donated her services on the evening, and to all the sponsors who contributed to making the evening such a success.
Whether it be the big cash draw, the raffle or the auction, the members’ and guests’ response was fantastic. This culminated in a total of over £21,700 being raised for charity and ensures that bus number 51 is on the production line!
Festivities continued into the night when we were able to catch up with a committee member.
Adelle Peattie, Charity Officer, said “It was great to see so many familiar faces at this year’s dinner and I am blown away with what we have been able to achieve for charity. Considering the tough times we are all still experiencing, we have had a great evening. I would like to make special mention of fellow committee member, Sally Fish of PIH, who is responsible for organising the dinner. As always, Sally has done a great job in pulling everything together. Finally, I would encourage the members to get involved with more 100 club events for our Ruby Year.”
The staff and pupils of Waterloo School cap off a fantastic year for The 100 Property Club!
On the 15 December 2011 members of The 100 Property Club gathered at Waterloo School in Hampshire to hand over the 48th minibus, in conjunction with the Lady Taverners. After tea and mince pies and an inspirational tour of the school, the pupils braved the cold to celebrate their new school bus. Actor James Smith (from “In the Thick of it”) was in attendance to add some glamour to the event!
After a short speech from Mike Peskin, it was left to the children to sing for their bus! They did a great job with “We wish you a merry Christmas!” With the dinner so fresh in the mind, it was a pleasure to see such tangible benefits for all the hard work over 2011.
Happy Christmas to all those associated with The 100 Property Club; your committee looks forward to seeing you in the new year for our Ruby Celebrations!
This years Christmas dinner on the 6th December is going to the best yet and there are still a few places remaining!
Sally, Adelle and the committee thought you might like to have a sneak preview of a very unique prize to be auctioned at the dinner on 6th December.
Like cooking? Love France? Need a holiday? Then this one is for you! A truly sumptuous experience in the heart of the Dordogne.
A Titanic Prize!
A five day/five night cooking holiday for two people culminating in one of our Famous Last Suppers events celebrating the centenary of the maiden voyage of RMS Titanic
We are also going to be auctioning a luxury holiday for four people to Antigua, which our very own Dave Bowen can vouch for as he bid for this last year and had the most amazing holiday in August.
There is also a shooting day, a power boat day and a chance of a photography session with a celebrity photographer. On top of this we have a magnificent array of raffle prizes, including a night out at the ballet and a brand new i-pad 2.
The dinner is always a fantastic, fun evening. With your help, it can bring a smile to some needy children too. We look forward to seeing you on 6th December.
We are delighted to announce the details of the 48th 100 Property Club bus handover.
The details of this event can be found on the events page. You can also download the flyer here. The bus handovers are a fantastic chance to experience first hand, the results of the clubs fundraising efforts! If you are able to attend please contact Adelle.
The100 Property Club made its latest donation to the Lady Taveners at their annual ball in the newly refurbished Savoy Hotel.
Through the club's fundraising efforts of the last year we were able to make a £30,000 towards two new speacially adapted minibuses. These buses will be presented either side of Christamas, details of which will appear on this website shortly.
The Lady Taverners is a vital and dedicated fundraising arm of The Lord's Taverners. Founded in 1987, it has since raised over £6 million. The Lord's Taverners is famous for its charitable giving to cricket but the Lady Taverners focus their fundraising on specially adapted minibuses and sport and recreation for young people with special needs.
Hot on the heels of the December dinner announcement yet another stalwart of the 100 club calendar has been be revealed. Yes, it's time to dust off the passports and prepare for the early start from St Pancras, to lunch in Paris.
The full details and also some menu choices are contained within the events page.
A new venue has been selected for this year’s escapade, Brasserie Julien.
If you would like to attend make a note of the date and visit the events page for all the details!
100 Property Club reveals plans for December Dinner
The 100 Club are delighted to announce the details of the forthcoming Christmas dinner. As well as the excellent dinner at The Dorchester on Park Lane, the big cash draw and the charity auction, this year’s Guest of Honour and Speaker will be none other than Jimmy Tarbuck.
Jimmy Tarbuck OBE, known affectionately as 'Tarby’, is one of Britain's favorite comics and has a TV career spanning over forty years, although these days he is just as likely to be found on the golf course as entertaining audiences with his quick wit and charismatic personality.
We do hope that you will be able to attend the evening and, if you are able to, please support the Club and our fundraising efforts by providing Sponsorship or a Raffle or Auction prize. Any contribution that you are able to make will be very much appreciated.
To reserve your table or individual places, please visit the events page to download the booking form. If you are able to offer sponsorship, there is a list of items and a form also on the events page. In the event that you can offer an auction or raffle prize, please contact Adelle Peattie at

Once again the 100 Club is daring to get its feet wet with the 2011 Sailing Day, which will take place on Tuesday 4 October.
There is an opportunity to sail two Beneteau 40.7’s yachts which are based at Ocean Village, Southampton, from where the cruise will start. During the day, depending on wind and tide, there will be a visit the Isle of Wight or elsewhere for lunch and return late afternoon. If there is a full complement on both boats there will be an opportunity for some light sparring on outward and return passages!
The Beneteau 40.7 is one of the most successful modern cruiser racers. Sleekly designed but comfortable below, it has a real turn of speed, with winning success in major regattas, including Sydney - Hobart and Cowes Week.
To reserve your place, please complete the slip below and return it to Jeremy Needs at the address given along with your remittance. To make this work all 18 places need to be filled so it would be great to get an idea of numbers by email initially, so final arrangements can be made.

The club was delighted to hand over its 47th bus to Breakspeare School in Abbotts Langley on 8th July 2011.The Lady Taverners arranged for the actor, Robert Lindsay, to attend and the rain stayed away long enough for some great photos to be taken of the children with their new bus.
The club will be looking to hand over another bus before the end of the year. Further details to be announced in due course.
We are delighted to announce that the 47th bus handover to Breakspeare School, in association with The Lady Taverners, will be attended by the actor Robert Lindsay.
You will have seen from the recent notice that the school is in Abbotts Langley in Hertfordshire so we would hope to see as many members as possible supporting the event.

The 100 Property Club Golf Society has announced the time and date of its very popular summer meeting. This is the meeting when the "Perpetul Putter", the Club's second most coverted trophy, (after the P.R.A.T trophy given for unfailing committment to the Club), wil be awarded.
The meeting will take place at Effingham GC on Thursday 7th July 2011 with a morning Stableford competition followed by a 9 hole team (3 ball) competition in the afternoon. The cost of the day is £90 per head which includes bacon rolls, lunch and sandwiches afterwards.
This is a very popular day with Club Members and so make sure you sign up soon to avoid disappointment!

Following last year’s very successful first Regional club lunch this year’s event, which will take place on Monday 11th April, is at the excellent La Capanna in Cobham. It promises be a lovely occasion with a three course meal, pre - lunch drink and half a bottle of wine per head included in the price!
Very importantly, this is the one lunch in the year where members are able to bring a guest, providing an excellent opportunity to bring friends or a colleague or even better to introduce fresh and interesting potential new members.
If you would like to attend please print off the booking form and return it with a cheque to David Bowen (contact details contained on the form).
We have managed to secure 20 tickets for the t20 cricket match between Middlesex and Surrey to be played at Lords, the home of cricket on the evening of 7th July 2011. If you have not been to Lords Cricket Ground before is it well worth a visit.
Apart from the free flowing "Pimms" this is a fantastic game of cricket. A true local derby with the two teams battling to get through to the finals days of what is fast becoming English Crickets top prize.
If you would like to attend please complete the booking form and return to David Bowen with a cheque for £21. The numbers are limited so it's first come first served. If there is extra demand we will look into a further ticket allocation. Please return the form as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
The 100 Property Club got the year off to a great start with the first Club lunch, held at the Intercontinental Hotel on Park Lane in London.
The Cookbook Cafe www.cookbookcafe.co.uk and it's Head Chef, Paul Bates, served up a beautiful 6 course tasting menu, together with wines chosen to complement each course. Particular highlights included the scallop and crab pojarski and the warm almond tart. The staff and decor added to the overall excellent dining experience.
In fact, the only time that the friendly atmosphere of the cafe was disturbed was when a committee member collected fines from members who were not sporting Club attire!
Mike Peskin (100 Property Club Chairman) commented;
"this is just the start to the year that we need - a fantastically well attended lunch, in great surroundings".
David Bowen, who organised the lunch, added;
" I have received excellent feedback from many of the members in attendance who enjoyed it so much, they have requested we go back again next year. This has certainly set the standard for future events. We hope to keep things fresh with a mixture of technical tours, social lunches and sporting occasions over the next 12 months. I would also like to remind members that I look forward to seeing them at the next event, which is on 11th April 2011, at a location outside London which will be confirmed shortly".
I hope that everyone who came to our sell-out Dinner with Rory Bremner, at The Dorchester in December, thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.
There were just under 400 people in attendance, which included 69 Club Members and their respective guests.
We raised in excess of £30,000 on the evening, which will, hopefully, enable us to provide, in conjuction with The Lady Taverner's, our 47th and 48th specially adapted mini-buses during 2011.
Details of the school and the date for the first scheduled handover in 2011 will be circulated to the Membership very shortly.
I would like to encourage any Members who have not already attended a bus handover, to make the effort to be at the next one - not just to support your Committee, but also to personally witness the pleasure, excitement and joy on the faces of the children - I know that you will be moved.
We have a packed schedule of events planned for the forthcoming year, kicking off with our 35th Club Lunch at The Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane on 7th February. This will be a magnificent six course 'tasting' lunch and includes different wines to accompany each course, so it is one not to be missed! Please contact David Bowen or download the booking form from the Events Page to secure your seat now, as places are limited.
All the planned social gatherings and the date of the 2011 Dinner are on the Events Page of this website - please make a note of the dates in your diaries.
Members of the Club were delighted to present the Club's 46th bus to Fitzwaryn School in Wantage. The School has 47 pupils ranging in age from 2 to 19 and whose special needs range from moderate to profound and mulitple learning difficulties which include autistic spectrum disorders, physical difficulties, hearing and visual impairment and speech or communication difficulties.
The excitement at receiving a new bus was palpable, as sport is an important part of the curriculum, and the new bus will take puils to activities and venues that have not been accessible to them.
The Club would like to thank the actor, Colin Salmon, for making the presentation and enthralling the children (and staff!), who recognised him from his role in Bond films!
We left Hamble for Yarmouth I.O.W. at 0945hrs in bright sunshine after a no less than excellent “Full English” at the Royal Southern Yacht Club. A 15 knot ENE breeze proved very favourable as we headed West against the last of a flooding tide, enabling us to carry spinnakers from our entry point into the Solent at Calshot Spit, all the way to Yarmouth. It was a comfortable but sometimes exciting run as we gybed our way from mainland to island shores and back again, looking for the best wind angle and speed.Arrived Yarmouth, at 1300hrs and then, to the Royal Solent Yacht Club with its fabulous terrace and a couple of beers to admire the view. And equally fabulous food! Fresh sea bream, with sauted carrots, spring greens and new potatoes were followed with home made apple crumble and cream, washed down with some delightful South African savignon blanc. We have occasionally visited other places over the years but this Club never disappoints. Quality food; excellent hospitality; very reasonably priced. When it became clear we needed to dally no longer and depart for the mainland, the wind and sun had unfortunately departed us! Not to be diverted from our lunchtime joie de vivre we happily set off home under motor, punching the now ebbing tide. But later, as the sky darkened with storm cloud, our tea and biscuits were rudely interrupted, as the wind rose from 0 to 30 knots and the sea changed from a mill pond to a wind surfers paradise – all in about 3 minutes. No trouble! After tucking in a reef and clearing up the spilt tea we turned our practice to upwind sailing. Tacking up Southampton water in increasingly heavy wind we competed for space with the splendid and beautifully liveried QM2 and the Queen Victoria as they departed together for foreign shores. It was a truly excellent day, much enjoyed, I believe, by all who took part. It was something of a compliment to hear David Graham - Smith, a seasoned power boat racer, say it was the most thrilling day he had ever experienced in a sailing boat. And yes, he has had more than one!.Thanks once again to our boat donors and skippers, Robert Page and particularly Tony Roscoe, who is not a Club member.
